Joseph Wright

Festival Orchestra ‘25

Joe is a tubist and educator in Massachusetts. He a member of Central Mass Brass, and principal tuba in the Gateway City Orchestra and Hilyer Festival Orchestra.  He has played lately with the New England Film Orchestra, Winchendon Winds, The Firebird Pops Orchestra, The Acadia Wind Ensemble, The Lowell Chamber Orchestra, the Arlington Philharmonic, and the Great Bay Philharmonic.

He teaches band at Chenery Upper Elementary School in Belmont, MA, teaches low brass students at Fitchburg State University, coaches low brass students in the Groton Hill Wind Ensemble, and is on the faculty of The University of New Hampshire’s Summer Youth Music School.

He holds degrees in music education from the University of New Hampshire and Boston University, with tuba studies with Nicolas Orovich, Julian Dixon, and J. Samuel Pilafian.  He also holds and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from Fitchburg State University in Educational Leadership and Management.
