Torlef Borsting

A native of Hawaii, baritone Torlef A. Borsting has enjoyed many stages of a varied musical career. While a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, Torlef worked with many high profile companies such as San Francisco Opera, Opera San Jose, Livermore Valley Opera, Opera Parallel, Sacramento Opera, West Bay Opera, and West Edge Opera (formerly Berkeley Opera). His favorite roles include Scarpia, Marcello, Jack Rance, Sharpless, Horace Tabor, Giorgio Germont, Belcore, and Prince Yeletsky. As a concert and oratorio performer, Torlef has worked as soloist with Mendocino Music Fesival, Pacific Chamber Symphony, Oakland Symphony, Symphony Parnassus, Cantare con Vivo, Orlando Sings, and the Bel Canto Singers of Daytona Beach.

Now based in DeLand, Florida, Torlef has been thrilled to make debuts with both Opera and Musical Theater companies alike. Since his move to the East Coast, he has debuted with New York City Opera, Opera Orlando, Indianapolis Opera, First Coast Opera, has spent 3 summers with Sherrill Milnes as part of the Savannah VOICE Festival, Citrus Alliance for the Arts, Jefferson Performing Arts (NOLA), Halifax Repertory Theatre, Gulfshore Opera, and now Central Florida Vocal Arts. The Pinnacle Singers, of which Torlef is a founding member, prepares to present it’s reimagined opera Turandot in the spring of 2025.
