Svetlana Garitselova is a versatile cellist, who especially enjoys performing chamber music. She is the principal cellist of Las Vegas Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra and has performed with the Bocelli, Adele, Paul Anka, David Foster, Daniel Emmet, Nevada Ballet, Las Vegas City Opera, and as a soloist throughout North America, Europe, Russia and Japan.
Svetlana has been a principal cellist of Galina Vishnevskaya Opera center orchestra, Chamber orchestra “Gnessinsky’s Virtuoso”, member of Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra in Moscow, Eastman Philharmonia Orchestra in Rochester NY, University of North Texas Symphony Orchestra, Odysseus Chamber Orchestra, Roberts Wesleyan College-Community Orchestra and Oswego Opera Ensemble. She was a member of Symphoria, Syracuse Symphony orchestra. Svetlana has been an Adjunct Professor at the Roberts Wesleyan College.
A passionate educator who enjoys teaching cello of all ages and levels, Svetlana maintains a private cello studio in Rochester NY and coaches chamber ensembles. She also enjoys pottery lessons and hiking with her family and friends in her free time.
Svetlana studied cello with Professor V. Simon at P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory. She won the 8th International Maria Yudina Chamber Music Competition and was awarded a scholarship by I. K. Arkhipova. She also holds a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music.
